Mountain Lion Hunting To Close In District 540

Spring Hunter Education Classes have been scheduled for Trout Creek and Thompson Falls. All hunter education classes are free of charge. By state law, anyone born after January 1, 1985, must have completed the Hunter Education Course to buy a hunting license in Montana. To become certified, you must be at least 11 years old. If registering in person, a parent or guardian must accompany students under 18 to sign the registration form.

Comment Period Extended on Planning for Sage-Grouse Conservation Measures

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) issued a corrected Notice of Intent to address sage grouse in 10 additional National Forest System Lands and Resource Management Plans, and formally extended the comment period through March 23, 2012.  The notice was published in the February 10, 2012, Federal Register.   The BLM and the Forest Service are seeking public comment on issues that should be addressed in Environmental Impact Statements (EIS) and Supplemental Environmental Impact Statements (SEIS) that will evaluate and provide greater sage-grouse conservation measures
