BOISE, ID (May 31, 2016) -- Sharetrails.org/BlueRibbon Coalition (BRC), a national trail-based recreation group, today slammed recent decisions that would severely restrict off-highway vehicle (OHV) events and trail improvements in many areas in eastern California and Nevada.  The changes, in the name of sage grouse management, were demanded by a handful of preservationist special interest groups.

MONTANA - Custer Gallatin NF Forest Plan Revision June Public Meetings Announced

MONTANA - Public Comment Period on BLM Little Rockies Travel Management Plan Extended

The Bureau of Land Management Malta Field Office is seeking public input about the Little Rockies Travel Management Plan. The BLM is looking for input on motorized vehicle, off-highway vehicle, snowmobile and non-motorized transportation uses on public lands in the Little Rockies Travel Management Planning Area of Phillips County. BRC Responds to The Wilderness Society Report

BRC wants to share this recent article from Environment & Energy Publishing in regards to an OHV Report from The Wilderness Society entitled: Achieving Compliance with the Executive Order "Minimization Criteria" for Off-Road Vehicle Use on Federal Public Lands.

The article highlights some Wilderness Society concerns about how the Forest Service is "minimizing" resource impacts caused by off-highway vehicle (OHV) use. BRC believes the report relies too heavily on land closures and restrictions as the primary management tools to reduce adverse impacts.
