NEW MEXICO - Carson National Forest Invites Public Participation In Forest Plan Revision

As part of the Forest Plan Revision process, the Carson National Forest has completed a draft assessment of current conditions and trends of forest resources to determine which are not in a sustainable condition and is asking the public for input. The forest is in the second year of a four-year process to revise its forest plan, the guiding document that serves as a "vision" for land management activities. Once approved, the forest plan will guide activities for the next 10-15 years.

BRC Participates in World Record-Breaking Jeep Parade

BRC’s Del and Stacie Albright attended Jeep Beach 2015 in Daytona Beach, FL where the Mid-Florida Jeep Club organized a new milestone for the Guinness Book of World Records.    According to the wording of the actual record, “The largest parade of Jeep vehicles numbered 1,846, and was achieved by Jeep Beach (USA) at the Daytona International Speedway in Daytona Beach, FL, USA on April 26, 2015.”

Comments Needed On West Mojave Route Network Project By June 4, 2015

As many of you know, the BLM's comment period for the West Mojave (WEMO) Route Network Project (WMRNP) and Draft Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement (SEIS) ends on June 4, 2015. The proposed route network provides important motorized access for both general outdoor recreationists and OHV enthusiasts. Many of the routes are near the following OHV Open Areas such as Jawbone Canyon, Spangler Hills, El Mirage, Stoddard Valley, and Johnson Valley.

The Fortine Ranger District of the Kootenai National Forest has developed a proposed action for the Ten Lakes Travel Management Project. The project area is located north and east of Eureka, Montana and includes 64,177 acres. The project boundary contains the Ten Lakes Wilderness Study Area (WSA). Proposed activities include designation of over-snow motorized use areas and non-winter trail management. There are two proposed seasons of motorized over-snow vehicle travel. Season One
