IDAHO - BLM Surveys the Future of Recreation at St. Anthony Sand Dunes

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) and the University of Idaho have begun a survey to plan for future recreational use at the 46,570-acre St. Anthony Sand Dunes recreation area in Fremont County, Idaho. BLM regulations require recreation planners to develop management plans to better understand and manage high-use areas such as the St. Anthony Dunes. The survey will engage visitors in the process of developing and ultimately implementing such a plan.

Funding For RTP On The Chopping Block Again!

Back in July of this year, BRC, along with other user groups, asked for your help in fending off an attempt by the Senate to eliminate the federal Recreational Trails Program (RTP). Well the fight is not over. Unfortunately another effort is under way by members of the House to eliminate this important trail funding. UTAH - BLM Extends Comment Period for St. George Draft Resource Management Plans

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) St. George Field Office has announced an extension of the public comment period for the Draft Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) analyzing two National Conservation Area (NCA) Draft Resource Management Plans (RMPs) and a Draft Amendment to the current St. George Field Office RMP. The public comment period will now end on November 16, 2015-providing an additional 30 days to review draft documents and submit comments.

NEW JERSEY - Update to NJ Park Service MAP for Wharton State Forest Alert

On October 21, 2015, we sent out a land use update on the New Jersey State Park Service Motorized Access Plan (MAP) to protect the environment and encourage responsible use of Off-Road Vehicles, or ORVs, in Wharton State Forest, located in the heart of the Pinelands National Reserve. NEW MEXICO - Carson NF Request Public Comment on the Needs to Change Management Direction of its Existing 1986 Forest Plan

The Carson National Forest has completed its Assessment Report. The assessment describes the current ecological, social, and economic conditions and trends of forest resources per the USDA Forest Service 2012 Planning Rule. These are the resource areas (vegetation, water, soil, air, riparian areas, etc.) and benefits we provide which are at risk of not being sustainable now and into the future.
