Have a look-see.
I need to re-import again - I didn't get the users all correct when the "forum" posts were migrated over.
The gallery module will work as well, and it looks like the URLs will be carried forward, but I haven't made a complete copy of the whole gallery to fully test that yet (it's a little big)
News/Stories have been migrated, forum posts (again, users are off there) and all users, of course..
I'll do another run through tomorrow.
I have to upgrade from PHPBB2 to PHPBB3 before I can then migrate things over, so it's a few-step process.

One Thread on the new variety.. I'm not sure I like it. You have to log in to view the comments/sub-posts.
I also have the option of embedding phpBB, which is what the "forums" are currently, though moving from phpBB2 to phpBB3 along the way.
The downside is a risk of issues in the future about the plug-in module not being supported and so on.. the upside is, it works pretty much like this one does now.
Anyone care to vote? Stick with "real" phpBB or try to migrate to the built-in "forum" features? (There are some additional enhancements that can be put in place to make it look more like phpBB, but at some point, you might as well go with phpBB 
)
