MONTANA 4x4 ASSOCIATION ELECTS 2010 BOARD OF DIRECTORS AT ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

BILLINGS, April 24th, 2010 --- The Montana 4x4 Association (M4x4A) held their 36th Annual Convention in Billings Montana. During the annual meeting the 2010 officers were elected. President Tom Mandera of Helena was retained for his 6th term, and Vice President Don Apker was retained for his 3rd term. Secretary Stacey Osborne was installed, along with Treasurer Dawn Hines. All officers were elected or retained through unanimous acclaim.

Past Secretary Shirleen Wheeler was awarded the M4x4A Outstanding Four Wheeler of the Year award for a second time.

The Montana 4x4 Association has member clubs throughout Montana comprising over two hundred family memberships. M4x4A members have been promoting responsible family recreation, cooperation and coexistence with other users, forest conservation, and motorized competition, while championing Montanans’ rights to access their public lands since 1974. Founding member passes - Bob Bradley Sr.

Bob Bradley Sr. , long time member of the Mountaineers, passed Saturday 13 March 2010.

Sr. was one of the original Old Fart Racing Team members. Sr was his happiest when he was racing his race rig. He had so many good friends. He will be sorely missed.

Services will be Saturday, March 20th at 2:00 at Dokken Nelson Funeral Home

Robert L. Bradley(1929 - 2010)

Robert Leonard Bradley Sr., 80, a Bozeman native, passed away March 13, 2010, at Bozeman Health and Rehab Center. He was born on Dec. 27, 1929, in Bozeman, to James and Florence Nixon Bradley. He grew up on the family farm on South Gooch Hill Road and attended Rea School and Gallatin High School.

After graduation, Robert married Alice Akens in August 1950 in Bozeman. They had three children: Robert Jr., David, and Lori. The couple later divorced.

In October 1969, Robert married Myrtle Swanson in Bozeman. Together they raised Marilyn and had a son, Michael.

Robert was a diesel mechanic and an over-the-road truck driver. In the 1970s, Robert and his brother, Curt, formed Bradley Brothers Trucking and Bradley Repair in Belgrade.

Robert enjoyed building and racing his Jeep. He was a member of the Bozeman Mountaineers Club and the Montana 4 x 4 Association.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Myrtle; brother, Curt; and sister-in-law, Susan.

He is survived by sons, Robert (Fran) Bradley Jr., David Bradley, and Michael Bradley; daughter, Lori McAllister; step-daughter, Marilyn (Ed) Cox; brothers, Raymond (Betty) Bradley, and Paul Bradley; sister-in-law, Betty Bradley; six grandchildren, Jeff Bradley, James Bradley, Johnny Cox, Aubrey Bradley, Deb Hawe, and Alan Aznoe; and eight great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 20, at Dokken-Nelson Sunset Chapel, followed by a reception in the basement of the Bozeman United Methodist Church. Robert will be laid to rest next to his wife, Myrt, at Sunset Hills Cemetery.

Mountaineers' Motorsports Swap Meet 4/25

Announcing the Mountaineers' Motorsports Swap Meet (sponsored by Dark Horse Customs) Sunday, April 25, 2010 at the Gallatin County Fairgrounds in Bozeman. Gate for sellers opens at 8:00 am and closes at 5:00 pm. Gate for buyers will be open from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm.

Participants of all motorsports (4x4, motorcycle, snowmobile, stock car, ATV, etc.) are invited to sell, but please keep it motorsports oriented. Dealers and resellers welcome. Suggested items are: vehicle parts, tools, tires & wheels, CBs, helmets & snowmobile suits, other riding gear, vehicles or pictures of vehicles for sale, etc.

Buyers get in free and all profits will go to a dedicated land-use fund.

Seller space is $10 for a 10ft x 20ft indoor spot to park or set up a table. We'll provide a pro-rated spot to share with others if you have only a few small items to sell. For the commercial seller it is $25 for a 10ft x 20ft space. There are spaces available for $50 for really large trailers. Spaces will be provided on a first come, first served basis until all spaces are full.

For outreach purposes, free spaces will be provided to access-oriented organizations, i.e. CBU, Blue Ribbon Coalition, etc.

You are responsible for your stuff, you and your buyers' safety, conducting yourself in a professional manner, cleaning up your area when done for the day, and removing any unsold items from the fairgrounds. No alcohol. We reserve the right to reject any sale items or eject participants for just cause. Contact Rob for additional details 579-9073.
